Terms & Conditions

It is important to us that we clarify expectations before an order is agreed. Please take some time to read the following terms and conditions. Should you have any questions or queries regarding them please do not hesitate to make contact.

 

 

  1. Consultation - The initial consultation is free of charge within a 10 mile radius of KT17 3LW. This initial consultation is usually used to understand and agree the scope of work, provide design advice and take accurate window measurements to be able to provide bespoke products.      
    1. Please note that we cannot take any responsibility for the accuracy of measurements or the quality of fabrics supplied by the client.
  2. Quote - A full quote will be sent to the client that details the cost of each item to be provided. Quotes are valid for 60 days.
  3. Deposit - The cost of the fabric, and head rails for roman blinds, is required as a deposit to secure your order. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer (see details below). All orders are unique and your deposit will be used to order supplies specific to your job requirements, therefore clients should be aware that this deposit is non-refundable.
  4. Fitting - We are happy to recommend an independent professional fitting service for window tracks and poles. The contract for the work, and payment, is made directly with the fitter. 
  5. Lead time - Turnaround time is approximately 6 weeks from deposit being received. However please be aware most products are bespoke and the turnaround time can vary. It is also dependent on order size and will be directly affected during our busy periods.  A more accurate lead time will be given once the project has been agreed upon.   
  6. Completion - Please note that once your items have been completed, we will contact you to make arrangements to deliver/fit them as necessary. We do not have the capacity to store items on our premises so please place orders with a view to being able to take delivery on completion. 
  7. The curtains will be made to the measurements stated in the quote. Due to the natural movement of fabric and environmental factors such as central heating etc... Once hung there may be a slight change in the length. Whilst every effort will be made to rectify this change Castle & Fin cannot be held responsible for shift in fabric under 1cm.  
  8. Installation - Although we do not fit tracks and poles, we do like to ensure that our bespoke products are installed to look their best. We therefore usually arrange to hang and dress your soft furnishings at no extra charge.
  9. Final payment - at the end of the work an invoice is provided which details each item, the overall amount of the job, any deposit (including interim payments on larger orders) already received and the final balance to be paid. Once the final payment has been received your item(s) will be available for collection or delivery/installation. All goods remain the property of Castle & Fin Soft Furnishings until payment is received in full. 
  10. Care - we recommend that products are not cleaned at all. In the event that cleaning is absolutely necessary, all products are DRY CLEAN ONLY. Consult a dry-cleaning specialist with experience of hand-made soft furnishings. Castle & Fin cannot accept any responsibility for damage or repairs needed as a result of incorrect cleaning and care. Any alterations or repairs needed as a result of incorrect cleaning and care will be charged at full price.
  11. Cancellation- once fabrics have been cut, no money will be repaid. If fabric has been delivered to Castle & Fin but work has not started, a handling fee of 25% of your initial payment will be charged. If cancellation is due to issues discovered with fabric supplied by the customer, the handling fee will also be applied, this is including situations where a change to fabric may be necessary due to such issues. 
  12. Amending the order - changes to your order can be done so as long as production has not started. Requests to change the order should be made by telephone at the earliest opportunity and then followed up with a confirmation by email.  
  13. In line with our cancellation policy, all made to measure items are non-returnable and non-refundable.  

 

 

MAKE IT SAFE  Please note that internal window blind cords and chains can pose a risk to babies and small children who could injure or even strangle themselves on looped operating cords and chains. All of our blinds are supplied with child safety devices. It is our recommendation that they are always fitted.
